Week 2 : Monday 22.10.07 sees most of the waffle pad and steel mesh layed ready for concreting. Hopefully they will do this tomorrow, as it has been predicted that wed-fri will be rain and storms...

Week 2 : Sunday 28.10.07. Sometime early on thursday morning, the concrete base was laid for the house. (The edge around the outside is where the bricks are laid) We have also noted that due to site conditions, Metricon have layed the slab 138mm higher than expected, which is so much better for our outside rain runoff, which was an issue at Burpengary!
This photo below has me standing at the egde of the garage, next to the meter box, and looking towards the back of the house where you can clearly see the inset of the alfresco area where we will be decking out towards the spa and outside patio area.

This photo has me standing in the back bedroom and looking towards the garage (where Annie is standing) across the diagonal of the house slab.

This photo below is looking from the back of the house towards the front of the house (in the direction of beams road, the hypermarket and mum and dad smiths house at aspley) . Note that there is an old peoples home across the road, and to Annie's happiness and enjoyment... a coffee shop.

Standing a little further back, you can see the slab set for the ducted air-conditioning box.

Looking west, in the direction of the bruce highway, and bunnings carseldine, you can clearly see the slab set for the rainwater tank. Also note, that we are so grateful that the council allowed us to move the entire house 1m further forward. This has given us enough room at the back of the house to have a clothes line, shed and compost bins, etc...
This photo shows the area where all of the domestic items can be in one location at the back of the house, and screened off from gardens, spa, entertaining and play equipment at the side of the house.
