Week 29 sees the flashing go around the front portico roof. It is still not finished but hopefully it will keep the rain out. We are now officially, more than 2 weeks over contract finish time. Hopefully, they can speed this process up in the next few weeks.

The other side of the portico flashing...

I decided to get in and cut back the weeds and long grass around areas of the house. Since I usually come by the house in my work clothes, the weeds and especially "cobblers pegs" were making it very hard. One window, the one below facing into the dining room and kitchen was my first target. You can see the grass cut back against this part of the house brickwork.

I wanted to make a path around to the water tank as the plumbers were due to come in and plumb in the tank soon.

I may also start to cement between the stone retainer wall sections. I think this is needed as it only becomes a nice nesting place for spiders and possibly snakes. You can also see in this picture below, the 5555 litre water tank we recently purchased from H2O on the sunshine coast. It is really 2 tanks joined in the middle and oval in shape, and also 40% of the cost of a steel tank at well under $1900. We have been quoted $5000 for a steel 5000 litre tank before! I also think the extendaline clothes line will fit between the tank and retainer wall nicely, and will also get sun for most of the day.

I cut most of the grass away from the A/C outside unit slab, and down to the laundry door.

Looking back the other way, you can see how high the original grass was before I cut it. In some place 5ft or more!
